Physical Fitness

There were 44,760 capable warriors in the armies of Reuben, Gad, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. They were all skilled in combat and armed with shields, swords, and bows. (1 Chronicles 5:18)

Physical fitness is a state of health and well-being and, more specifically, the ability to perform aspects of sports, occupations and daily activities.

Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest.

  • Military service members know the saying “Physical fitness is the cornerstone of combat readiness” by heart.
  • Physical exercise keeps soldiers in top condition so they’re always ready for any mission.
  • Service members who don’t meet military fitness standards run the risk of an early discharge or disciplinary action.
  • Through carefully planned and implemented physical training exercises, each branch of the military is able to maintain a high level of combat readiness with healthy, capable service members.

Ephesians 6:10 – 19 our carefully planned and implemented training exercises, that should lead to a high level of readiness, healthiness, and capable members:

  • Stand your ground

  • Put on the shoes, of peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared
  • Hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil

  • Take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God
  • Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion
  • Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere
  • Pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan  that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike
