Proficiency of a King’s Man

Praise the lord, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle. (Psalms 144:1)

Ability, skillfulness

Antonyms:  inability, incompetence, ineptness

He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. (1 Corinthians 12:10)

So when we say that one is proficient we are in effect saying that this person is an expert, experienced, worth more than the average, brave and able to  carry out his or her assigned task.

  • So how do we apply this to our relationship to King Jesus?
  • Does He expect us to be expert in the Christian faith?
  • Does He expect us to have instant experienced?
  • Are we worth more than the average believer?
  • Are we really brave?
  • Are we able bodied in the Christian faith?

1 Chronicles 12:2
All of them were expert archers, and they could shoot arrows or sling stones with their left hand as well as their right.

1 Chronicles 12:8
Some brave and experienced warriors from the tribe of Gad also defected to David while he was at the stronghold in the wilderness. They were expert with both shield and spear, as fierce as lions and as swift as deer on the mountains.

1 Chronicles 12:14
These warriors from Gad were army commanders. The weakest among them could take on a hundred regular troops, and the strongest could take on a thousand!

1 Chronicles 12:21

Now look at each one of these areas and ask yourself if you are proficient in any of these areas and then began looking at the ones you are not proficient in.  We really need to be able bodied in these areas so that we can resist the enemy in our daily lives.  We must began searching out mentors who can help us to become warriors who are tried, tested, and stamped approved for battle. I can tell you that the enemy is already approved for battle and he does a really good job of shaking our brave factor. There is a battle going on whether we know it or not. We are in the middle of the battle ground and we are not prepared for the struggle yet we find ourselves wrestling with the enemy on many fronts and we are getting our hind ends kicked and it would seem that we even like it that way. Why would I say that you might ask?  Because we seem to repeat the same behavior end up getting hind parts kick over and over rather than taking a stand and saying enough is enough!

Let’s look at just one of the tenants from above and explore what proficient looks like. Let’s take Faith and see what God’s Word says about Faith.

  1. It is impossible to please God without Faith
  2. It takes positive expectation to achieve results
  3. One must become effective with the shield of faith, this is how we deal with the enemies fiery trials
  4. Look at the many examples of the champions of faith found in God’s Word
  5. How does faith come, it comes by hearing the Word of God
  6. Once you hear the Word of God then your next step is to act on what you heard.
  7. When God said Go, or tell my people, or speak to… or you will, it took faith to act on those things

What is God’s Word saying to you today, Go! Tell! Speak! Or You Will!

Perhaps God has given you a dream, it takes really faith to bring it to life.

It takes real faith to fulfill your purpose in life.

So what can I do to become a proficient warrior you might ask? I am so glad that you asked that.  One must began working on the above list and then one by one become proficient with each subject matter. It will take prayer, faith, practice, perseverance, determination, and guts to stick with it to become a proficient warrior that Christ can use for the glory of His kingdom and to bring honor to our Father in Heaven.  This would be the place to start and then move on to become leaders who can defend the faith and multiply the Kingdom of God.

inability, incompetence, ineptness

Do you see incompetence on your behalf in any of the above areas?  Have you ever wondered what God seees in your life?

As you examine your life in light of God’s Word, do you see proficiency or incompetence?

If you noticed inability in any of the above areas then you see areas that needs much prayer and focus.

It is no longer acceptable to allow the spirit of ineptitude to exist in our lives. We have a very powerful allied who is more than capable of empowering us to the level of professional in any of the areas above. So what are you waiting on?
