v 14 for the light is making everything visible. That is why it says, “Wake up, sleeper! Arise from the dead, and the Messiah will shine on you.’’
v 15 So, then, be careful how you live. Do not be unwise but wise,
v 16 making the best use of your time because the times are evil.
v 17 Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.
v 20 you will consistently give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah;
v 21 and you will submit to one another out of reverence for the Messiah.
If you want the Lord Jesus to shine on you then you need to:
- wake up sleeper
- arise from the dead (inactivity)
- be careful how you live
- do not be unwise
- be wise
- make the best use of your time
- do not be foolish
- understand what the Lord’s will is
- consistently give thanks to God the Father for everything in name of Jesus
The indifferent need to rouse themsleves from inactivity before it leads to ruin or nonexistence
